2023 Pricing Announcement Questions and Answers

  1. I have a paid plan today, how am I impacted? For anyone with a current Intro, Standard or Advanced paid plan, your monthly price will remain the same through the end of 2023.  Details about all other plans will be shared in advance of the price increase so you have time to make a change if you wish.
  2. I am a Guest, how am I impacted? We will continue to offer some form of free calls for Guest Explorers. We believe universal access to visual information is a right and remain steadfastly committed to providing free Guest access. You will be able to upgrade to a paid Intro, Standard or Advanced plan before January 17, 2023 if you wish to lock in at the 2022 prices.
  3. What if I pause or cancel my plan between now and Jan. 16? You can pause your plan for one month, if you resume before January 17, 2023, and your plan is a Intro, Standard or Advanced, your monthly price will remain the same through the end of 2023. If you cancel your plan between now and January 16, 2023 and do not purchase again before January 17, 2023, when you do purchase, you will pay the 2023 prices.
  4. Who will have to pay the new 2023 prices? Beginning January 17, 2023, new subscribers and existing subscribers who wish to change their current plan will pay the new 2023 prices. 
  5. What are the 2023 prices?  What about my special plan?
    The 2023 plans and prices will be rolled out in 2023. For special plans that will not continue ‘as is’, subscribers will be notified in advance of the price increase so you have time to make a change if you wish.
  6. Will there be new plan types in 2023? There may be new plan options in 2023.
  7. Why are you doing this? As you may already know, Aira has not made any adjustment in pricing in the last 4 years and remains committed to building a Visual Interpreting Service that is sustainable and affordable.

  9. Will there be anything in the middle, between the plans offered today? There may be new plan options in 2023. We are always looking at how we can best support our Explorers and remain a sustainable business at the same time.
  10. I have a special plan (NFB ACB CCB etc.), how will I be impacted? For anyone with a current Intro, Standard or Advanced paid plan, your monthly price will remain the same through the end of 2023. Details about all other plans will be shared in advance of the price increase so you have time to make a change if you wish.
  11. My account was canceled for non-payment. Can I still return to the old plan I had? If your account is canceled for non-payment and you decide to subscribe again, your will have to choose from the 2023 plans.  You will not be able to return to a 2022 plan.
  12. Will my plan minutes start to roll over? We do not intend to offer rollover minutes at this time. 
  13. Will there still be a Guest/free plan? We will continue to offer some form of free calls for Guest Explorers. We believe universal access to visual information is a right and remain steadfastly committed to providing free Guest access.
  14. What if I’m on a shared plan? The same rules will apply as they do for plans that are not shared.  
  15. Will the free 5 minute calls for Guest Explorers remain? We will continue to offer some form of free calls for Guest Explorers. We believe universal access to visual information is a right and remain steadfastly committed to providing free Guest access.
  16. Will I continue to receive free calls every 4 hours with the new plans? Much like the 5-minute free Guest calls, we will continue a form of free for paid subscribers. We are evaluating the benefits and packaging of our plans including how the free calls are implemented.
  17. Will Aira have more promotions and free offers? Yes
  18. Are minute bundles remaining the same?  We will adjust the bundles based on input from the community to ensure we offer the greatest flexibility without unnecessary complexity.
  19. If I have an active 2022 plan and I want to make a change after January 17, 2023, what are my options Beginning January 17th, you can retain your 2022 plan (whatever the size). If you want to change – either upgrade or downgrade – you will have to choose from the 2023 plans.
