What is Aira?
Aira is a service that connects blind and low-vision people to highly trained, remotely-located agents. At the touch of a button, Aira delivers instant access to information, enhancing everyday efficiency, engagement, and independence.
What are common things people do with Aira?
People use Aira for a variety of everyday activities that fit their lifestyle, including organizing and managing tasks at home, at work, or at school; reading inaccessible materials; travel and navigation; enhancing engagement with entertainment, events, and social gatherings; and troubleshooting technology. Are agents trained by Aira?
Yes. Agents form the core of our service. As employees of Aira, they undergo a rigorous training process, which includes background checks and familiarization with Orientation & Mobility training and language.
How do I know which plan to start out with?
You can choose whatever plan best suits your lifestyle. You always have the option to upgrade or downgrade your plan based on your preference. Currently, the most popular choice is the Standard plan.
Are there any hidden costs or fees?
No. Your monthly payments cover all aspects of your chosen Aira plan.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. If you would like to cancel, please call Customer Care.
I’d like to share my plan with a family member or friend, is that possible?
Yes. Our Standard and Advanced plans have a Minute Sharing feature where you can share your Aira minutes between yourself and up to two additional users per account. This feature is exclusive to Standard and Advanced plans, as only one Horizon Kit can be purchased per plan.
Can I buy more minutes?
If you are on the Advanced Plan, you may purchase 50 Add-on Minutes for $50 in the app.
Does Aira have a referral program?
Yes. When someone you refer to Aira signs up for a plan, they get their first month free. And you will also get the value of their first paid month credited to your own Aira account. To learn more visit: aira.io/referral.
If I sign up for the Intro Plan now, can I add the Horizon Kit at another time?
The Horizon Kit is available for only the Standard and Advanced Plans. However, you’re free to upgrade at any time.
What is the Horizon Kit?
Each Horizon Kit comes with a pair of Horizon Smart Glasses, the Horizon Phone, as well as charging equipment and necessary cables. To learn more, visit: aira.io/horizon
What do you mean by rent-to-own the Horizon Kit?
With the Standard and Advanced Plans, you have the option to either buy the Horizon Kit with a one time purchase or you may rent-to-own. With rent-to-own, you will have purchased the Horizon Kit after 24 monthly payments. If you no longer want to use Aira with the Horizon Kit, or you decide to cancel your plan, you can return your Horizon Kit and stop payments. Please note that rent-to-own payments already made for the Horizon Kit will not be refunded.
What if I pay for and receive my Horizon Kit but decide I no longer want it. What is your return policy?
For the rent-to-own payment option, you can return the glasses, but we cannot refund any of the payments that you have already made. However, for the one-time payment, we will not accept returns as it is non-refundable.
What is a Guest?
Anyone who creates a free Aira Guest account is considered a Guest.
What can Guests do with Aira?
Guests can use the Aira app and service from their personal smartphone to connect with agents for free whenever they use a free Aira Access offer.
What is Aira Access?
Aira Access is our way of providing free service to as many people as possible. Our Aira Access Network is made up of high profile businesses, retailers, airports, supermarket chains, campuses, and sports venues who all sponsor free access to Aira’s service. You can explore the free Aira Access offers available in the app by tapping “Call using a Free Offer” on the home screen. Aira Access is available to both Guests and Explorers.
Does it cost money to download the Aira app as a Guest?
No. The Aira app is free to download on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
Does it cost money to use the Aira app as a Guest?
No. Creating a Guest account is free and easy to do.
What is the difference between being a Guest and being an Explorer?
As a Guest, your account is free to create, and use is limited to Aira Access offers. Explorers subscribe to a monthly plan that allows them to access agents at any time and anywhere.
The Guest option doesn’t specify how many minutes are included. How can I use the service without any minutes?
Minutes are free with our Aira Access offers. Each Aira Access offer provides a certain amount of free minutes as set out by our partners or Aira itself. You can find these free offers by tapping on the “Call using a Free Offer” button on the home screen. From here you can also search for nearby Aira Access Locations.
