Jeff is a widely respected leader in the business and accessibility communities, having previously served as the Chief Accessibility Officer at Disability:IN for over four years. Prior to that role, he dedicated 28 years of his career to Fidelity Investments, building a wealth of experience in digital accessibility and program leadership.
As someone living with Retinitis Pigmentosa, Jeff understands firsthand the life-changing power of visual and ASL interpreting tools.
“I want people with disabilities to be directors of their own narrative, as opposed to being victims of their own narratives,” he shares regarding his new role. “Part of the way to help that is through awareness, resources, and tools. Aira is an amazing tool that can help us to get over what we might feel as a vulnerability and to gain that independence or additional independence that visual interpreting, as well as on-demand ASL interpreters provide.”
At Aira, Jeff’s mission will focus on building strategic enterprise partnerships to strengthen global accessibility. He aims to position Aira as a leading voice that unites companies to foster inclusive employment opportunities. Given that unemployment rates exceed 70% in the blind and low-vision community alone, Jeff emphasizes the importance of equipping organizations with supportive recruitment and onboarding tools in advance, ensuring they are prepared to successfully hire disabled talent from day one.
Outside of his professional advocacy, Jeff lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife of nearly 29 years, where they raised their two children. As he embarks on this exciting new chapter, Jeff is eager to connect with Aira’s vibrant community and looks forward to meeting both our consumer and enterprise customers in the near future.
