Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Goal:

To make navigating an airport a more efficient and independent experience for blind and low-vision travelers.

Solution:

Airports have been one of the most popular venues for Aira Access, with more than 30 U.S. airports and international destinations like London Heathrow, UK, and Wellington, NZ providing free Aira service to blind and low vision travelers. Partnering with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the second-busiest airport in the US, improves the traveling experience for a substantial portion of the blind and low-vision community, and provides an excellent proving ground for Aira’s technology.

Impact:

“I don’t know how I would have managed efficiently and independently in the airport if I didn’t have Aira. It would have involved trying to get some assistance from passengers or from the airport.”
– A Happy Airport and Aira Customer

Removing Technological Barriers with Vispero

Goal:

Bringing two leaders in the industry together to empower independence in new ways.

Solution:

We partnered with Vispero to create the first-ever Aira Access Products. This enables users to connect with Aira agents for free when conducting tasks related to basic troubleshooting with Vispero products (such as the JAWS screen reader).

This new integration was driven by community data, with the goal of providing access to information for a VFO product, while simultaneously increasing the user’s efficiency and prioritizing the features driven by the data.

Impact:

“There has been so much excitement around Aira already, and for our customers to benefit from this partnership and take advantage of assistance like this while on their computer or working with our hardware, is fantastic. Working with Aira on this project is a great fit, and naturally coincides with our goal of providing excellent support to our customers.”
– Eric Damery, Vice President of Software Product Management.

Inclusive Shopping at Wegmans

Goal:

For Wegmans to raise the bar on the shopping experience by making it more efficient and enjoyable for blind and low-vision shoppers.

Solution:

Wegmans aims to make a difference in every community it serves. So, to make a difference in the blind and low-vision community, we worked with Wegmans to create the United States’ first supermarket chain enabled with Aira Access. This allows anyone with the Aira app to connect to agents for free while shopping at any Wegmans store.

Impact:

“At Wegmans, we are committed to providing incredible customer service to all our shoppers. Our partnership with Aira helps us deliver on this commitment, giving our blind and low-vision customers access to this innovative service and the ability to navigate our stores easily and efficiently.”
– Linda Lovejoy, Community Relations Manager for Wegmans.

AT&T Dallas Cowboys

Goal:

To give blind and low-vision football fans equal access to visual experiences that sighted fans get to have while in an NFL stadium.

Solution:

Aira and AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, partnered to enable Aira Access at the stadium. Through Aira Access, any blind or low-vision person using the Aira app can now connect with a certified agent for free and receive live audio descriptions of the game, the stadium, and its surrounds.

Impact:

“Our collaboration with Aira has given blind and low vision individuals the ability to do things they never thought possible – from running marathons to navigating busy airports to grocery shopping independently. How cool is it that AT&T Stadium is now making the experience of attending a Dallas Cowboys game or a concert accessible to everyone?”
– Chris Penrose, President of IoT Solutions at AT&T

Powering Prosperity with Intuit QuickBooks

Goal:

To power prosperity in the blind and low-vision community.

Solution:

As many Aira users are self-employed, we worked with Intuit to create a unique program that enables eligible Aira users to connect with agents for free when conducting tasks related to managing their business.

Impact:

Our partnership with Intuit provides self-employed blind and low-vision people with direct (and free) access to visual information services that heighten their efficiency and productivity. This has elevated Intuit’s brand status as an inclusive leader in its industry, while simultaneously boosting the blind and low-vision community’s economy.
